Does anyone have a confirmed or reliable source that has the weight listed for GZ/MZ20 Soarer's?
I'd like to know what the 1986 GZ20 Soarer is supposed to weigh.
Thank you.

Danish,
The weight of an MZ20 will depend on the level of options and any extra aftermarket add ons. My car originally weighed well in excess of 1600kg. Gz's might be a little less, but not much.
After a massive weight loss program she still weighs in at just on 1300kg (with roll cage). Easiest way to check is to take it to a public weighbridge.
The doors on these cars are about 40 kg each!! You could hang a barn door off the hinges alone. Bonnet is 16kg. The seats make good container ship anchors, and there's enough sound insulation in the floor and firewall for a recording studio!
Well, they were a luxobarge after all.

Thanks Laurie,
I didn't know the actual weight of the doors, but I was telling a friend that his Silvia door weigh about 4 times less than my door.
Since it's not registered for passengers in the back (hence no seatbelts) I think I might take the rear seats out. That might help a bit. Eventually down the track I guess I'd swap the seats for some light weight reclinable racing seats.
The D1 JZZ30 even has carbon fibre doors and bonnet to cut down on this rediculous number.
You obviously have an MZ20 race car? What type of racing do you compete in? Some pictures of your car, interior and engine bay would be great! What modifications have you made? I'd like to compete in circuit sprints and drift.
Cheers.
