Hard to say as i did it all myself. I had the turbos (KKK K3T's) kicking a round the shed and made the manifolds up with a mate. The turbosmart external wastegates weren't cheap...must have been feeling rich when i ordered them.
To replicate the setup with parts off the shelf would set you back around 10K. BUT, as i did, you can do it much cheaper if you look around for the right bits etc. If you can get the manifolds done for a decent price i'd say 3K would get you close with used turbos. I'd use the stock ones doing it on the cheap as jamie has proved they work well.
Like i said hard to say

Well, she's running again
Bought some new plugs
FUCKING $19 EACH
Damn Iridium
Put them in, flicked the key, and BAMMM, se's alive again.
But now I have a bad squeal. So I replaced a few bearings on idler pulleys etc, didnt stop it.. damn
Then did some 'hose' research, and found out it was the damn alternator bearings.
So pulled that off, and TRIED to get it apart.
No go, damn
Oh, well, I'll try tomoz, we'll get it apart.
Then its just tuning and w0000t, LLLLLLLLEEEEETTTTTSSSSSSS GGGGGOOOOOOOOO

Told you to get it reconditoned.
Did you recon the PS pump?
Whered you get the bearings for the idler pulleys, and which pulleys the fanbelt or the timing belt?

Well, it wasnt the alternator bearings
Its the fan belt, the grooves are the wrong profile, so I'll just have to put up with it until new grooves are worn in.
And the alternator is fine
Charges at just over 14 volts when just above idle.
Just waiting for the tuner now

Good to hear its going.
I always recondition the alt, PS pump, water pump and idler bearings. I just take all the bearings to the bearing shop to find new ones so I don't know any sizes. Of course this only works if you have another car to get to the shop in.
When's Alan coming around???? I haven't talked to him in a while so I should have a chat with him sometime this week.

It wouldnt fit with my 90 degree bend, the outlet of the bend is too large.
I got it from ODIN AUTOs.
They have basically supplied everything for this conversion.
Every bolt, nut, bearing, filter, oil etc etc

Yeah, Odins are gods if you get something that gives them a challenge, and if they are not too busy.
If its not to busy, you can walk in and say, "I need this for this" and they'll go away and wont return until they have the part, or they have ordered it in for you.
If its heaps busy (which saturdays and sundays usually are) then they sort of go, heres the book, gimme a call if you get stuck.

ok, the tuner brings over 2 kalmaker units he built today just incase one doesnt work
the first one, about 6 of the pins are bent, and he breaks one trying to straighten them, so that one was fucked
and the other one just didnt work, for some fucked reason.
So, no tuning could be performed

Yeah it good to do all theese things. Makes you feel much better knowing the job is neat and will work. Also sometimes its difficult to get motivated to work on the car again, especially if it gets through rego as is and there is no real need to do it.

Nah, haven't talked to any engineers yet, that will happen once its driveable and tuned.
As it stands now, I haven't modified ANYTHING structural besides the mounts, and they have been professionally made by a machinist shop, laser cut, welded, and I believe zinc plated. I'll take some pics once I have them back (hopefully Friday)

you're really asking for trouble there.
not consulting an engineer BEFORE you start a project is a sure fire way to end up doing the job twice over. i'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but the engineer will not like you doing things other than his way, and then asking him to certify it.
i mean, don't get me wrong, your mounts might be fine and get an OK straight out, but if he doesn't, then you'll be pulling the engine out again to replace mounts you've already paid for.
i had the engineer inspect my crossmember mods BEFORE i even THOUGHT about making the engine mounts, and lucky that, because he wanted another skin of 2.0mm plate welded on in a certain section. and that would have required the whole lot to be removed for an L-shaped skin 100x100 in size.
and i will be sending him my modded gearbox mounts and engine mounts to inspect before i bolt the engine in too.
it might cost another $200 or so to get it looked at in this way, but $200 WILL save you re-doing things, and my time taken to re-do it is worth a lot more to me than $200.
sorry for the lecture. that's my happy meal with fries.

Nah, thats cool, I know what you are saying.
I prolly should have seen an engineer before I started, and had I been doing anything like you, I would have.
But since I havent modified the chassis in any way, shape or form, and that I havent touched the body at all, the level of engineering required on my conversion is stuff bugger all.
If the engineer I take my car to doesnt like what I have done, he doesnt get my money and I go to someone else. And until I have gone through every engineer in perth, I aint changing nothing (within reason).
That said, if you could PM the details of your engineer, I'd appretiate it

Ummm, yeah...
Motor is all back in and reading for engineering.
Finally got the tuner (Alan) out on wednesday to try again (after WEEKS of pestering him).
And we found out that its crossfire so badly that it just wont run, and when you put the grounding rings in there, you get no spark what-so-ever.
So I'm in the middle of getting a device designed to send the signal to each coil at the correct time, thus eliminating crossfire. Similar in the way in which Petes does, but for a fraction of the cost.
So that will be designed over the next couple of days, and hopefully tested next week.
Now all this could turn to shit pretty quickly, as I head off to the great mine of "Mining Area C" on May 3rd for 3 months, thus the car shall be garaged until I get back.
So it will all be sorted out in a week, OR, not for 4 months.

He knows he can do it, but its going to be a matter of whether he can do it to handle the switching speed of 7000+rpm
There will be a few steps of testing, getting it work at crank, then at idle, then at some revs etc etc etc.
Start simple, work up.

Yeah unless your doing something crazy most engineers will only look at the finished product. But you will want to have photos of your work such as engine mounts, gearbox mounts, oil lines, fuel lines, brake mods just all mods in general.
If you ask the engineer for advice you will be taking on the responsibilty of paying $180 or so and hour.

in NSW, engineers certs are usually a flat $440... and for the one near me, they offer as much advice as you need for free..
of course they charge for things like designing a CAMS approved cage, or designing other bits, but all advice is free...
call-outs also cost.. but might still be less than hiring a trailer..

My engineer is Jack Apgar in Telopia Drive, Duncraig.
He's the same guy that designed the Aussie Invader 1 shell - hence why i chose to use him.
he's a picky bitch, but he's good, and he explains everything he asks for so i come away knowing why i have to do it, not just that i have to do it.
they have his details on file at the Warwick Inspection Centre.
