ill let you use my idea beacuse i never will:
rent-a-crowd.
for parties, etc, run a database of people who are willing to attend parties and their interests, etc (interview each candidate). They pay a membership fee.
If someones having a party they can call you up and for a nominal fee they can have an extra 20 fresh new faces there with similar tastes!
of course you would have to get everyone to sign release forms noting you wont be liable for any damage, and that if people end up at a satanic party and are slaughtered, then thats their own business.

nice idea but:
- some bottleshops already have a delivery facility
- theres no way you could get a license for that.. you'd have to grease up some palms from the liquor licensing board to find a loophole.
keep the creative juices flowing though

Heh heh. If you like, go out and find people who need web design/graphic design for me. You take a finders fee for everyone you find who gives me work.
I'll be setting up a website and getting some buisness cards when I can find some money so, yeah.

Eh, I dunno. I once came out of the Sandy (not my idea to go in in the first place, but what ya gonna do?) and there was a Don's hotdog van. Best hotdogs in the world. I wanted more. Onions, cheese, sauce... fantastic.
In general though, your right...

I wasn't even drinking the night I got the Don's hotdog. I always seem to be the designated driver 'cuz I love driving so much. Although, roasty toasty piston rings is making it less fun.
Ahh, if I can make some cash it will be Supra time for me. Mwahaha. Then I will enjoy driving again.

there was a mad idea i saw once on a flyer in the toilets at the malborough:
Just say you drive to a pub, cant resist tempation, and get blind.
This company comes out to you on their fold up motorised scooter thing, puts you and your mates into your car, puts his scooter in the boot and drives you home (you had to live a certain distance from the pub). he then gets his scooter out and rides off once your at home.

You may... MAY be able to get the govornment to buy you the Van, scooters, and provide police grade (posibly police maintained too) breath testing equiptment. Anyway, something to look into.
I think I'll look into this one too, sounds like a good idea.
Do you think the clubs themselves would be interested in spending perhaps $20 a night to get you to come to their club? That would cover the cost of getting the van there and back again, and then user pays for the use of equiptment and the scooter ride home.
I think the scooter rides should be defined before you leave. So the person shows you where they live on the melways, then you figure out the charge (further away you are, the more it will cost. That way you can get more buisness, without cuttin your throat with a $10 flat charge). They pay up front, then the drive home. The person on the scooter doesn't carry any money or change on them, just a phone card and a mobile just incase some jerkoff decides to steal their bike. That way the customer can't shaft you for the fare by beating you up or just running inside. although I suppose you do have their car at your disposal if they just run inside.

The word you are looking for is definatly.
If a taxi ride would cost $22, you set your price at $18. So not only do they save $4, but then when they get up in the morning their car is right there waiting!
I'm not in Sydney, I don't have a bike licence, and I'm not yet off my Ps. Perhaps if all those things where different I would follow you up on that.  Or if you where in Melbourne.

let me give you a bit of insight into the RSA laws:
If a patron is intoxicated and has no way of getting to a suitable place of rest, a taxi must be provided from the establishment at the licensee's cost.
i think a pub will almost certainly subsidise some of the cost for you to do this, as you are removing the duty of care from them and saving them possible litigation if anything arises.
You will definately be able to get some of the cost subsidised too from the government, like said above, because a service like this will reflect very well towards them.
Cost of vehicles/petrol, you can claim all this on tax too.
really theres no way to loose!

Van home is an idea. I'm a little worried about the drivers safety though, riding in a car that isn't theirs, with a bunch of people who aren't even sensible enough to have a designated driver, and then having to take a little scooter home. Although I'm sure you would get more and more people "booking" you. Ya know, they wanna drive in, but want to drink, so they book your services for a certain club at a certain time or something.

but then it sorta defeats the purpose of driving in the first place. you become more of a cheap taxi... it may be harder to pitch for funding then.
of course theres the legal problem of crashing their cars, especially if their insurance wont cover you. you could get sued, as theyre agreeing to let you drive under duress.
there may be a business insurance you could get for *undetermined* cars.. would cost you a bit though.
the scooters hold their own... ive seen some guys fly on those petrol ones theyre bigger than the razor ones, with rubber tyres and some have a fold out seat... but yeah have another car follow you around to pick up the driver after the drop...
20kms is heaps if you do it radius from centerpoint.. driving distance its a little less..

up in BNE there was this crowd called "you drink we drive" but they got wiped out by excessive insurance costs.
similar thing to the fold-up bike ... they worked as a team, two persons in one car met you at your vehicle, one drove your car while the other followed to collect at the end of trip.
unfortunately, it was usually rich bastards who made use of the service so if they got the slightest dint/scratch/sudden-braking-effort in their car while be driven home, they'd sue ...
