cam/s, carbs/EFI, compression and extractors can be done to any engine..
question you have to ask yourself is, "is it worth the money"

maybe do extractors and exhaust first, then work your way up the power tree Wink

We're talking a 2S-C here. While extractors are a relatively cheap mod, it's still an expensive way to transform a slow shit-tin into a very slightly less slow shit-tin.

Coronas always need a little more schwing.
However, that said, I see you have 2 choices.
1) Start saving money and buying things for the 1G (new clutch, new radiator, correct sump etc etc) so you will have almost everything for when you buy it off him/her.
2) Drop something like a 5mge in there (if it fits, I have no idea, could be to heavy too). It will be a cheap upgrade, and will allow you to do things which will make the 1G conversion easier. IE, getting the fuel system ready for EFI, wiring ready for EFI

But hey, this is just IMO

I'd be getting it ready for a 1G, or perhaps finding an 18RG...
