Hi all.
I have a AE92 SX with a 4AGZE installed. Everything has been running fine for the last 12mnths until.......
3 days ago i heard what can only be described as an awful grinding and rattling sound coming from what I thought was the water pump. After closer inspection I discovered it was actually the S/C.
I have taken the front cover of the s/c pulley and found that the cover has been deformed and damaged and there are metal filings on the inside of the pulley. (I have some pics but don't know how to add them to this).

What I am actually wondering is:
a. has anyone had this problem before?
b. Can the pulley be replaced with a fixed one (no clutch)
c. how do I remove the pulley without removing the motor?

Any feed back would be appreciated.
Thanks
Daniel

Does anone have a 4AGZE Map out of a car at the monemt?
Can you take a pic of the front of the s/c pulley with the cover off?
Thanks

could it be the s/c clutch? You didn't happen to manually engage the s/c with a switch did you? Just guessing here... Sad

It's nearly impossible to take the SC pulley out without taking the whole SC out of the car. You could try though.

If you need a smaller SC pulley with clutch, let me know.

This is how the SC looks when you remove the clutch.

We used a screwdriver to knock the nut out and you have the whole pulley out of the SC. Then you'll see the magnet underneath.
