Wiring a 1ggte into a ra23 Thu, 29 January 2004 04:46 Go to next message
i am having extreme difficulty in doin this myself as i cant get enough power to the igniter for some reason. Does any1 know of anybody who can make a loom to suit for a reasonable price? or perhaps have some wiring diagrams of a gen 3 engine? i have searched the archives and the diagrams that say gen3 all have different plugs and different colour wires. any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Dave

Where are you currently getting the power from for your igniter? If there's not enough power you need to create a new circuit from the battery using a relay and of course a fuse.

try Grant of Sixworks, he may be busy, but it never hurts to try.
I believe he specializes in this sort of stuff.

he also has an article in this type of install in the article section.

Good luck.

Hi

Are you sure that it is a Gen 3? As the wiring diagram in the gallery is for a gen 3. All the ones that I have seen have 26 pins on the large plug. If your has only 24 you might like to consider it to be a gen 2 There are pinouts for a gen 2 in the gallery. You might also do a search as I have posted a thread last year on the range of differences between a gen 2 and 3.

Thanks for the advice guys. i'm getting the power for the igniter and injectors just off the ecu at the moment. i was going to run a seperate power line from the battery to these however i don't know which wire is the power one on the igniter as the colours dont match with any diagrams i have. the diagram i have also shows a 4 pin plug on it where mine is a 6 pin plug. Does anybody have a number that i can contact Grant from Sixworks on?

Cheers
