Hey Guys,
I'm looking to buy an LSD for a Sprinter AE86. Can anyone suggest where I could find one?

Take advantage of the higher Aussie dollar - I've just ordered a brand new KAAZ 2 way LSD from the States.
Even paying the highest express postage rate, the LSD costs $660 (special export price) + $97 Express delivery (supposedly 3-5 days). Converted to $AUD, that is less than $1,000 for a brand new KAAZ LSD right to your doorstep in Australia.
Locally, I've been quoted as high as $1,800 for the same unit.
KAAZ USA is currently out of stock but are expecting a shipment in from Japan next week. I've also ordered some KAAZ LSD Oil at the same time.
Get in touch with Ray at KAAZ USA - his email is: newportcars@kaazusa.com
And as it's American, payment can be made via PAYPAL like any Ebay sale.
Part number is DAT-1630 for the zenki model, DAT-1610 for the kouki model.
Alternately, I can give you contact details of someone who supplies Cusco LSD's as well in the States. However the cost of getting one in will be $1,200 AUD - you can see why I'm going for KAAZ instead.
I also believe Kristian on these forums sells TRD LSD's for around $1,200 - bear in mind though that the Cusco & KAAZ units have 12 plates as opposed to 8 in the TRD. Also, you won't need to shave axles for either KAAZ or Cusco.
Good luck!

You can't ... they're not made to fit the S series diff. You need at least a T series diff such as a Jap spec AE86 diff with rear disks to fit the LSD ...

You may find that you get slugged for tax and import duty on that imported diff... you won't be the first one.

LOL, and boy does it sting.
auto parts have 15% duty on them.
then you pay 10% on the goods value, the customs payable, and the postage...
if the goods are insured for a certain value, that will be the value for customs... but you have to provide evidence that was the cost (by receipt or whatever). if they think it is worht more, they will charge you more
basically. 26.5% on the goods value, 10% on the postage.
current exchange = 0.77ish
660 / .78 = 857 x .265 = $227
97 / .78 = 125 x .1 = $13
hmm, $240 + 857 + 125 = $1222 about what kristian sells TRD ones for
Cya, Stewart
ps, customs duty sucks, and GST on postage incurred in a different country? don't get me started
