4AGZE Questions.. Fri, 30 January 2004 04:35 Go to next message
Hey fellas,

I ran a compression test on my ze yesterday out of curiosity and I came up with

170psi on cylinder 1
160psi on cylinder 2
170psi on cylinder 3
170psi on cylinder 4

I'm assuming since they are so similar it's all good but I thought I should check anyways Smile

Also, when I took my sparkies out I notced what seemed to be a rust like build up around the tip area of the spark plug, I'm just wondering what may cause this, I didn't notice it last time I changed sparkies..

That compression seems about typical of most GZE's I've seen, best I've ever seen is 180 all round.

As for the spark plugs, has your engine been lying around for a bit?

Cool, good to hear..

As for the engine, it gets driven daily and has been for the last 2 years.. I've got a photo of one of the sparkies if you're interested in looking at it?

If not its not biggie Smile

Hey there.
I have the standard 100kw age and have the same problem with the plugs. took it to my mechanic and he said that there is a crack in the head or gasket. all the plugs turn orange after just over a week. the only problem i seem to have is when i start her up in the morning, just need to give her a rev to get what seems to be some moisture out of the cylinders. this only happens when it has been left over night. ive had the car for about 4 months now and its been doing it since i got it. oh the joys of finding out how bad the guy before you treated the car!!!! if this sounds about the same as yours try some chemi weld. i used car go seal up stuff and it did nothing. Best of luck to you.
