Hi all,

Just bought a Soarer (JZZ30) and a week after I bought it the drivers side door won't open. Mad

Passenger side works fine, can't open it from the inside or the outside. I've played with the door lock button and used the keys as well but when I pull the handle nothing happens.

Anybody had this happen to them? How was it resolved?

It's giving me the s#&ts and as the door is closed I'm not sure how to get the trim off to take a look. Sad

Any ideas/hints/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Fingers

SO when you use the key it unlocks but you still can't open it with the handle?

If so, i would think that somehow the handle has disconnected itself from the latch? just a guess though Smile

I think it would be quite difficult if not impossible to get the door trim off with the door closed.

That's correct, I can see the lock flicking backwards and fowards but when you pull on either handle, nothing happens.

Right on there. There is a $2 plastic clip that holds the rod to the handle, it had broken and the rod had fallen out.

I managed to open the door by fluke when I wound down the window; it hit the rod and opened the door. It bent the rod though. So much so that when I pulled it back into place it broke. Mad

Managed to macguyver it all together with some wire so I can use it for now. Lucky its under warranty so I'll have to see what they say.
