if its the original gasket and u've uped the boost then i would this to be expected. i would say go for a TRD metal gasket(brass, copper or something like that i cant think straight atm), no idea on the costs.
If anyone has a better idea post it.

i was waiting for the 7m thing - but how many gt4's do you hear having Blown head gaskets
Anyway - imgetting it checked out properly next week ..
its either the head gasket - at worst case scenario - or a very clogged up radiator/thermostat coupled with bad airflow ..
You can guess which one i hope it is ..
Thanks for the parts number - The new motor will have an uprated head gasket in it - though i think if its needed to be replaced on this motor - ill put in a standard item ..
its been running 13 odd PSI of boost pretty much since it was bought - so its handled 200 thousand KM - not too bad - and nods - not totally unexpected.

re the 205 - they fitted on your block no problems ??
If i need one - this is better than the 185 unit im sure ..
Though - double checked water to see if theres milkiness today - none - no water in oil off dipstick , and no goo under the oil cap ..
Going to get the coolant system checked gor gas leakage - i believe they pout somethign on the radiator + check for bubbles ?
Hoping its not a BHG - morre likely a dead radiator or thermostat ..

I just bought the TRD ST205 head gasket (3-ply, 1mm). Apparently good for up to 22 Psi.

I wanted to do this but when I placed the 205 gasket on the 185 block, it partially covered up some water galleries, So i decided to put the 185 one on till I get serious.
Also did you replace the head bolts?? Are they torque to yield design?

Don't forget your Toymods 15% discount when you shop at Penrith Toyota parts. Talk to Mark, the resident TRD guru there...

Well - its blowing bubbles thru the radiator ..
Sounds like ive bitten the big " oh fuck this "
So .. i have a blown head gasket .. CAr seems ok to get to and from work FOR NOW - will driving it for less than 5 mins either way create larger problems in the meantime till i can get it fixed ?
Also second dilemma -
I can either:
I can either repair the headgasket in this one , just the gasket - nothing else .
OR should i still get the group A motor + drive this one as is for the next few months - and build that up ( by asking bank for more money please ) and swap the bastard over in one hit
Either way ill have to pull a motor apart ..whats better
Also for those who have done it - Ideas on the cost to repair it ...
Cheapest method is the best atm - And will i need the head worked over ?

you are probably going to have to pull the motor to get at the HG... it won't be easy to get it off... lot of f**king around.
I'd personally get a real move on with the GrpA donk. Kill two birds with the one stone. Borrow, beg or steal!
Be careful driving any more than a couple of minutes... gases can build up in the cooling system and cause hose blowouts etc... has personally happened to me (not in the GT4 thou).

Stuey mate that sux
I really feel for you man... no toyota natties *sniff*
hey I don't know about your engine, but for the 3sge there is no way I would need to take the engine out to do the hg, don't know if having the turbo and all would force an engine removal but hey if you can take the top off without undoing all the gbox and stuff you could do it yourself (take friggn' ages though)
I know nosssing.

Im determined to get to dubbo still - Dont worry about that !
At this point my choice seems to be fix the motor - new HG for that - and still get the other one to build a sa monster ..
Wheteher or not im driving doesnt matter - Ill get there somehow - either shotgunning - or flying
