getting tailights working on TA40 Sun, 01 February 2004 13:35 Go to next message
hey guys

BOth my rear brake lights dont work on the car and I was wondering how I could go about fixing - is it the fuses or the globes - the fuses look REAL old but I dont think its so - are the bulbs easy to get to?

Anything else to check out for brake lights not working. Dont worry, i know this question is stupid, but maybe theres another factor about why it doesnt work.

Cheers
Kim

check for voltage at the bulbs. if there is, then check that there is a ground connection betweent he tail light assembly and the body, since the bulb is earthed thru there (usually)

if it's dirty or rusty, the connection may be bad..

but check for 12V at the bulb first, if it's not there, work your way back to the fuses, then switches.
