Removing 18R-G timing gear

The time has finally come to pull my 18R-G apart and rebuild it with added turbo goodness. I didn't get very far though; I tried removing the sprockets from the end of the cam but I realised I don't have a spanner big enough! So before I go out and buy a new one, can anyone tell me how big those bolts are? They look like 19mm but I'm not sure...

I'm pretty sure that they were 19mm when I did mine all of those years ago.
Quick way to measure is get a shifetr to the right size and then measure that.
Try getting a 19mm ROE, as it is useful in other areas
Cheers

PS You managed a 2JZ-GTE into a Mk2, and you don't have one of these spanners/sockets ??
All hail the great god Norbie !!!!

LOL
I have a good selection of sockets, but there's not enough room to get one in there (cylinder head casting is in the way). I'm going to take your word for it, I'll buy a 19mm spanner during the week. If it's not 19mm I'll be coming after you!!

Yes I figured as much! Thanks for the confirmation Witzl.
I'm not looking forward to the rest of the job. I HATE timing chains, and 18R-G's have two of them so twice the pain!
I am looking forward to see the condition of the cylinder head though, once I finally get it off. I suspect it will be very amusing!

Yes I do but I'd rather not damage the bolts. I suspect they're on pretty tight...
