Argo Rods, Newcastle (I don't think that's their correct business name), or Ridgecrest, down here in Seaford. Ridgecrest will make you some titanium jobbies for about 3K!

whats wrong with the factory toyota late model GZE pistons? Forged & ceramic coated!

Or do you need something custom, for different rods or compression or something?

Ridgecrest do excellent work....Titanium is good in a high revving drag motor, but for street work you will be replacing them every couple of years...and at around 4k a set it gets costly....Titanium is very light and strong but it doesnt have a long fatigue resistance.....eventually the constant torsional loads end up wearing it out....where as forged steel will almost last for ever....aluminium is inbetween titanium and steel for rods....it will fatigue after some time also...
You don't need rods to run forged pistons.....$1K for a set is dead cheap, they are forged hypereutectic alloy afaik....so high in silicon content and very very light and strong, but normally require a slight bore of the cylinders....standard rods should hold out Corvid

Absolutely Michael, but I was just joking about the titanium rods! Grin
And, correct, you don't need new rods to run forgies. However, people who get a custom forged piston sometimes decide to change the comp height of the piston and run a longer rod to help increase the upper rev limit of their engine, ie improve conrod:stroke ratio. Probably totally unrequired on a supercharged 4 cylinder. Also incredibly exensive!

Ill be honest, no point raising the rev limit of the GZE unless you plan to turbo it...the blower makes no usable power after 6K rpm hehe.... the curve just drops off....
INEFFICIENCY is what I think they call it hehehe =]

Actually Giant I thought for a high revving motor you run a shorter rod, and a have a piston with longer flanks so it pulls harder from TDC and to TDC, a long rod dwells at TDC longer then accelerates...but if I am wrong correct me!!!
Irregardless Corvid, unless you plan to make 500hp forget RODS.....cost you around $1600 for a set...and for street I would only go forged steel. Maybe a tad lighter than standard but around 50 times stronger.....and steel has a huge fatigue resistance =]
Only advantage of alloy is it absorbs massive torsional loads because its softer, taking some load off the crankshaft..but again this will only affect it on the harmonics and high revs =]]
Worth getting your whole internals balanced also if your going to pull the motor down =]]]] I bet theyare out of balance by a long way!

Well...
Gianttomato man.. Im dropping the blower and picking up a t28 to put on the engine..
The reason i enquired about the forgies is that the Series 1 pistons are "semi-forged" whatever that means..
The series 2/3 gze pistons are
Ceramic Coated and full forged.. also the crank has the oil squirters..
Problem is this..
Series 1: 8:1 comp.
series 2/3: 8.9:1 comp.

I prefer running boost on the lower compression pistons but i want full forgies..
Maybe the 8.9:1 compression would be ok.. i dunno.. I feel safer running the lower tho..
Id be running a max of 20pound.. Its a project so im building it up over time..
And yes the blower is useless about i think about 5500rpm.. Its all good around the streets, It chops.. But i had a bit of a "porsche challenge" hehehe the other night.. with a boxster s.. I had him to about 80 then up top it was all over.. If i had turbs i wouldv Rolling his ass.. Smile and he wouldv been Cry.
