Having trouble locating a 3.0L V6 1MZ-FE.
This is from the 96- Camry, Avalon, ES300.

A few places have the earlier 3VZ-FE, but I can't legally put this engine in my car cause its too old.
I imagine they're similar dimensions, but if I'm going to put one in my car I want to be 100% sure, & don't know if the mounts are the same.

Anyone know if the 1MZ had VVTi?

The 1MZ wasn't released with VVTi as far as I'm aware. If it was, I'm sure the current Camry V6 would have had it, but the only VVTi you'll see in a Camry is on the new I4 engine.

Hi,

my first post. I was looking into replacing my 1MZ-FE in my camry and been researching.

Theres 3 variations for the engine.
1. Original Camry engine 1MZ-FE
2. Avalon Engine 1MZ-FE with higher compression (11:1 to the original camery 10.5:1) and slightly higher power output.
3. ES-300 '99 and up (I think thats the right year) this version has VVTi.

Hope this helps.

Actually it was in reference to most of the conversions at the All Toyota Day.....They usually just "bolt right in". Laughing

What about trying a damaged vehicle auction house. I recently went to a Pickles(.com.au) auction in Perth and there were plenty of Camrys there. Not sure if any had the 1MZ donk though.
I'm going again this Wednesday, it's a wekly auction. Some bargains to be had if you only want the engine as some cars are Stat write-offs and others that aren't complete write-offs but wouldn't be worth fixing. I was very suprised home many accidents there are each week in Perth. 200+ lots at the auction every week. Imagine how many in Sydney.

I found one today, under the bonnet of my MCV20R camry Razz Missus said I couldn't remove it though. Sad and unfortunately there's not room for a pair of turbo's in the FWD layout!

If you ditch all the plastic stuff there shoudl be enough room for one... above the gearbox. Talk about high mount turbo.
