dude do you know how rare these are! See if you can get a price on repairing yours at a cheap panel beater. (this is what I had to do) You could even take it out and drop it off at his shop as they come out real easy.

How much did you have to pay for yours to be done? This will be the second @!$%& time I'm having this panel re-sprayed. The last time was done 5 years ago along with the bonnet and fender -- cost me a fortune! @!$%& thing has rusted again. Should I be forking out more than $100?

yeah man I paid heaps too, I can't remember how much exacto but I think it was about $350 or a tad over fo rit to be removed, 'treated', and painted to match.
that was like near a year ago and rust has started re-appearing around the inside edge of the roof on the inside.
you can call the dude a celicar spares in wherethehellpark and see if he has any but I don't think they will be cheap at all.
I have a spare one that I got of a wrecked celica I bought, but the rust in it is much worse than the current one and I have to spend some time on it fixing it...

Does this happen often???
Is it better to try and get one without a sunroof?? why does it always peel? i noticed it on some of the st-162s i checked out!

it has a tendancy to happen, cause if u look at the seal properly, the plastic curves around the outside of the metal, causing a gutter next to the metal, and the water sits there and eats it away.
i got my new sunroof for 200, and payed 150 for it to b rust-proofed and painted.

I wouldn't get one with a sunroof (too late for me )-- more trouble than it's worth. The rubber seal isn't as snug as it should be -- water seeps in to cause corrosion. Glass moonroofs in later models are ideal.

I meant later non-ST162 models. I think the glass ones on ST162 are after-market.
I take it back -- I might be selling my Celica -- it's good to have sunroof!
