Hey Yogi - just out of interest, was this car featured in (i think) Hot 4s/Fast Fours some years back? i remember there was a Blue/White Rotary Torana (don't think it was a 20B at that stage though!! )

Just interested to know about the computer situation he's got going there. All of my friends that are running 20B's need to run MTX12's, they can't run MTX8's. How does your friend run the 8?
P.s they are all turbo, this may have something to do with it.

That's bullshit. If you build it yourself in your own backyard then yeah maybe. If you get it built by someone who knows what they are talking about then it will last forever and a day. There are so many determining factors that it is impossible to even make a statement like that. Do you warm it up before strapping it? Do you strap the tits off it every metre you drive it? Do you let it cool down after a strap? Do you service it correctly and often? It all depends on many many factors. My mate has a 13B PP in his RX4 coupe which he has had for over 6 years. He takes it up to wakefield and he races it in hill climbs at least once every two months and all he has ever done to it was replace the apex seals once because after 4 years of curcuit work it was starting to get a bit tired. And guess what? It is his EVERY-DAY-STREET-CAR! Well until about 2 years ago anyway. He used to drive it to work everyday, as well as the shops, school, anywhere he needed to go. Then he would drive it up to the track, race it all day, then drive it home. It never ever looked like it was going to die, however after the 4 year period it had become noticably slower than it used to be, as well as starting to blow a bit of weed. However a set of new apex seals later and a tune, and it was back to it's former glory and is still going strong today. If you get it built properly, then it'll last the distance.

(ps, whats the go with the microtech subject? Any answers yet?)
