ST162 shake on idle

My ST162 feels rough on idle -- before AND AFTER rebuilding the engine 2 years ago. I think the problem is not the engine, but the north and south engine mounts that sit on the front-to-back cross member -- they are squashed (even after replacing them) -- the sliding adjustment only goes so far. I reckon it's either the cross member has hit a speed bump in a previous lifetime, or my wrong-doing of always jacking the car on this cross-member (I should be using the east-west cross member, right?) has caused it to bend slightly. Assuming this is the problem, has anyone got any good recommendations on bending this cross-member back? I reckon an extra inch of sag in the middle will fix the idle shake.
If I'm completely on the wrong path, please don't hesitate to tell me. Timing & idle-speed are up-to-spec, if that helps.

yeah that sounds like it could be a viable reason, don't know how you'd go about bending it back, don't know if you can it may weaken it when you try, you mignt be able to pick up another from the wreckers.
that said other wise you could try heating it up with a oxytorch and bending it slightly.

There are 3 mounts are there not? Mate with ST184 replaced two of his and had horrible vibration. Got the other one replaced and Bob's your uncle.

not the ST162 has a total of 4 engine mounts, the 2 on the lower crossmember and one on either side of the engine.

No one else answered this, but yeah - you should jack it up on the east-west suspension cross member if you have to.

Thankx guys! I've got an idea -- I'll put both ends of the cross-member up on blocks, then lower one wheel of the car in the middle of it. I'll use a scissor jack so I can finely control the degree of bend.
