I Paid $3,800 for a 2JZGTE front cut from an auto Aristo.about 10 mths ago.

I know of someone who paid $6,000 for a Manual Supra Front Cut with 6 Speed box from the same place about 12 mths ago.

1G manual front cut, $2-2.5k, pretty easy to find.

2JZ manual front cut, $6.5-10k, quite hard to find.

how good are 1ggte in ra23's? handeling changes etc?
how good are the 1ggte's in general?
reliable? easy to get power from? etc?

I understand there are three differnt versions of them, odviously wanting the most powerful variant, are they easy to find?

All of your questions will be answered if you spend 10 minutes with the search function. Seriously, this topic has been covered very well in the past.

As for putting a 2JZ-GTE into an RA23, it can be done but it's a bit ambitious. I think you'll be more than happy with the 1G, and it's about 100 times easier!

The 2JZGTE is a heaps better engine... but for a Celica application then the 1GGTE is definitely better suited as it is smaller, lighter, and a legal fitment in most (all?) states.

You can probably pick up a complete ex-Supra 1GGTE half cut (manual) for under $2k... I paid that for mine and later got the impression they'd have taken a lot less... although this was about a year ago and they are getting harder to find now.

As for your question about the 'non turbo' box - I asume you mean the W58 - the 1GGTE actually comes with these from the factory. You'd be mad not to buy a half cut.
