I was sick of replacing the front spoiler on my ST162 at $100 a pop, so I thought I should do some more creative thinking.
The problem with my spoiler is that the lower and upper parts are detached from the vertical stubs -- the stubs are too flimsy that it happens too easily. I fixed mine by cutting L shaped bits from the sides of a black plastic container (you may also make small slices of an aluminium L bar, but you'll have to paint them black). I then rivet these to the vertical stubs and the lower and vertical part of the spoiler. Now it's even stronger than the original!
I should take some photos of what I did too! 'cause these spoilers ARE a pain
as they are ALWAYS breaking.
where the clip things used to hold them on I drilled holes and used large washers with some rubber washers on either side and bolted it through where the screws used to be (and had ripped)
i had a piece of rubber the was in a curved "L" shape. hard to explain but perfect for a lip on the bottom of the cels. I never got around to putting it on tho, would lower the look of the car like 2".
got it from clark rubber in Brookvale. $30 bodykit
