Soarer questions......
|
Thu, 05 February 2004 06:00
|
|
Well I've got my eye on Soarers at the moment, now I've got a few questions about the model codes, and yes I've read the bit in the articles and I understand most of the toyota codes, but the late 80's cars are abit confusin...
GZ10 : Comes with a 1G-GE?
GZ20 : Come with a 1G-GTE?
GZ21 : Comes with a 7M-GTE?
Do any of the 88/89 Soarers comes with a 1JZ-GTE or any other sort of engine?
Thanks,

Hey mate,
None of the older Soarers came with the 1JZ-GTE.
GZ10 = 1G-GE
GZ20 = 1G-GTE(U)
MZ20 = 7M-GTE
As far as I know MZ21 (with the 1 on the end) are the fully optioned luxury models.

Note there was also the MZ10 with a 6M-GE engine.

I was under the impression that the MZ10 had the 5M-GE, and the only car to ever have the 6M-GE was the Crown 3000?

Well I've seen a Soarer with a 6M-GE in it, and yes the engine number on the build plate matched!

Wierd, thats cool
Heres a q for ya, are MZ10's front sump? mid? or rear? What are Crowns? That will decipher the answer.
Coz I have never heard of a 6MGE with a front sump, so if Crowns have front sumps, they didn't come from Crowns

MZ11 was another source of both the 5MGE and the 6MGE

yes.. just gotta get back on track..
I got turned down for the loan a few months back cause 1. didnt earn enough on avg(fixed that), 2. didnt have a bank account with the credit union i tried. 3, was a student.
3-4 weeks of saving(to get 2 grand and keep a good saving record).. gotta apply for loan again(i now fit all the requirements easily)...
My car is then going to body shop to get all rust and straighten all body work, then to get the engine in and a few mods(to run around 180rwkw).
Engine mods at start will be:
3 inch all the way through including fabricated twin pipes
Pod filter
Celicamad Boost controller
maybe bigger FMIC
After that its going to my gf's dad for a full bare metal respray for a grand in a whiter pearl white.
So hopefully the whole thing is finished in 10-12 weeks
and then im saving for a few months and getting full interior leather retrim.
It will probably take longer than planned though.. always does.
Just fucked my back so the ammount im saving went from like 330 a week to 270 cause of chiro.. but still good enough, just wanna have a set ammount before i apply
Cheers

dude you dont need savings or to be with the bank you go for the loan at (only at the shit banks you have to)
i was with bank west they didnt want to know then i tried anz they wanted me to be a customer then i tried challenge they knocked me back so i tried gurantor they didnt love that either then i went to challenge and had a $10,000 check 3 days later
You HAVE to HAVE a fulltime job or permanent part time if your going for a decent amount
i got a $10,000 loan i had $2 in the bank (bankwest) and i went for the loan at challenge and got it
just make sure you say you have lots of assets they love them it what they will reposses if you dont pay your loan
i said i had $10,000 worth of assets when i went for my loan id be lucky to have $2000 worth

I don't want to start a debate about the relative good and evils of chiropracty, and not knowing your exact situation.... but be careful doing too much of it.
I've been a couple of times, and they're always your neck is this and your back is that blah blah and come back in two weeks to be sure it's all aligned etc. I know when my lower back is a bit hurty, I go in, they do their thing and I don't go back for years. They always say come back, what is your diet like etc etc but don't get sucked in and become a chiro junkie. They can't fix everything.
A friend of mine had a lot of chiropracty for scoliosis (sp?) and now has arthritis in her spine from all the f**king about they did.

Sorry to hear about the back mate (terrible thing that "shaggers back", you'll have to lay of it for a bit!!). It's just my opinion they do their little thing, realigning the hips or whatever and that's about it! Sometimes you come out with more issues than what you go in with..... Always best to check with a doctor/physio/x-rays too

Most of that can be fixed by strengthing your back at the gym, working the correct muscles in the correct fashion

Its out from bad injuries.
I do have x rays... and over the top of them I have drawn where my back "should" be

Same as mine used to be, went in and hip was higher on one side than the other, and everything had gone skewiff because the last two vertebrate in my back are fused together. I started going a couple of times a week and when it was normal went back to my once a month.
And then I got a kickass new bed, and my problems haven't re-occurred, I probably should go, but I got plenty of other things to spend money on...

Does this problem correct it self? or is it a permanent thing?

Permanent. While not being a huge problem, it means that other stuff moves around a bit more than it's supposed to to give me the flexibility.

Looks nice Kristian, I'm looking for one thats pretty well stock Engine wise, but has a body kit & some nice mags, I hate to say it, but with the driving this car is going to be donig(Sydney Peak hour), performance just isn't going to matter that much. I want something with decent stock power & looks nice. Maybe further down the track....
