Head number 11111-88261 is a 2T-GEU engine. Has double valve springs. Its the last, or one of the latest 2TG engines made. 1588cc compression is hard to say for sure unless you get hte pistons out, but probably 8.4:1 or 8.8:1. It does not have EGR or any strange emissions stuff, but does have EFI, and a oxygen sensor I think, and 5th injector. It has electronic ignition, with mechanical/vacume advance. It will have TOYOTA DOHC written on the cam cover it big square capital letters, and a plastic oil cap on the rear right side. And will have a thermo fan.
Probably made around 1979 to 1982, and came standard in the TE72 shape Levins, Truenos and sedan corolla GT cars. Also in some TA40 cars I believe.

Thanks Jonny, I just heard prople talking about the 88260 head and nothing about the 61
Now how do i tell if i have the original 2tgeu block, the engine came with just enough things on it to make it run with the efi in a box and late model solex's on, i don't think i have a thermo because i have the normal clutchless 4 blade thingy.

To be honest, Im not sure of the difference between 88260 and 88261 heads. I know the difference in cam covers though. But I know the 88260 was avaliable with solex carbies, and EFI as well. You will find the EFI manifold and Carbie manifold is differnt by one bolt. THat will show what the head had on it originaly.
I don't think there is any difference with the block. But the 2TG pistons and pumps are different to the 2T ones. The 88220 and 88222 came with a fixed fan, the same as on 4K engines. The 2TGEU engines all came with a clutch fan, but all these things can be swapped.
I'm not sure how the 2TG oil pump and fuel pumps are different, but I think they have different part numbers. Im not sure what ones I have on my engine.
Also, look for part numbers on the inlet manifolds. The carbie manifold will say 88220 regardles, but the EFI one may say 88264 or something.

Jonny,
Just been thru the Aus Spec TA22 parts catalog
The T, 2T, 2T-B and 2T-G all use the same Fuel pump. Obviously the 2TGEU uses and electric pump to supply the higher pressure.
The T, 2T, 2T-B and 2TG also all use the same Oil pump. not sure on the 2T-GEU but I beleive it is also the same.
As for Differences between the 88260 and the 88261 head. Not sure for certain. I am led to beleive the heads are much the same but I would be betting on them having slightly different Cam profiles. I'll have to check the two here out for any other differences if I get the chance.
I have the 88222 caseing here plus the 88260 and 88261 complete heads. Timing covers have long since gotten mixed up tho
Oh and not all 88261 headed 2TGEU's had electronic ignition.
