Nah dude, you're missing the point, I just thought it has been good to have more of a moderator presence and thought the guidelines and the FAQ's are a damn good idea.

Witzl,
I understand what you're mean, but I think part of the effectiveness of the FAQ's being sticky is that you have to see it when you load the forum, and people might be more inclined to look if it's right there instead of just starting another post. It's not as if there is a lot of them, it would be interesting to see your solution to the problem.
Ed,
Thats cool man, just thought it deserved a mention.

i reckon the sticky things are cool regardless of who puts them up...
i reckon toymods as a site (not just the forums) should encourage much more documentation and stuff of everyone's conversions, swaps, and experiments.
encourage everyone to create their own little tech articles/diaries and stuff, perhaps reward with stickers/shirts/other novelty shit?
coz stuff like bigfella73's thread and others whom you can follow along the process of their work is a very interesting and fun read- not to mention you learn a shitload.
i know ill be documenting my 5me/mteu hybrid good and well.

not one to argue or anything, but i dont think we need a big brother to sort out all the little shits. y'all shouldn't get so hot under the collar about them, just ignore them, and they will go away like the nice little shits they are.

Good idea, and I'm all for it but with the amount of FAQ's that already exist in the forums it won't be long before you'll have to go through 6 pages of FAQ's to get to a new thread. that would be annoying esp. for the 56k fanclub. Is there like an advanced user style of thing that could be set up so that newbies that get on have to go through all the FAQ's (and hence get aquainted with) where as once someone reaches "regular user" status (and theoretically buy then gets the idea) the FAQ's fall to their chronological place.
Alternatively have your general notes sticky at the top then the next sticky could be FAQ's with a list of the headings under the topic and next to that a link to the page
ie
Turbo Lag - www.toymod.blahblahblah/turbolag page
18R-C - 18R-G conversion - www.toymod.blahblahblah/18r-c conversion page
Anyway good work moderators in general...

we're still trying to figure out a way for the FAQ's to be managed.
obviously 16 FAQ's stacked on the top of the page before you see a new thread is crap. however, i dont think hiding them elsewhere on the site will be useful - peopple just wont read them.
like i said, this is being discussed presently, but my 2c is that we should have just one sticky at the top of the page: FAQ's and in this thread link to the individual FAQ's that will be generated over time.

Perfect but the topic should be more along the lines of "Frequently asked mechanical questions read before posting new topics to see if its been covered numerous times before and you end up looking like a goober and giving the post whores more posts against their names",or somthing that grabs the attention in a shorter sentance, as if I came on to a forums and saw just FAQ's I'd still skip it
May be "Frequently Asked Repair Questions" or FARQ

That's a FARQing good idea!
How about Frequently Asked Conversion Questions - FACQ.
Or common conversion top ten with links to threads etc.

if only Sam and Max were able to change the links for the "POST THREAD" button so that it would redirect to a page with big fuck off writing:
"ATTN: HAVE YOU DONE A SEARCH YET?
Your thread will be locked if it has already been covered."
