What is the pressure rating on the radiator cap for a standard 1JZ considering they run a little hotter than most engines? I ask cause I cant keep any water in my overflow bottle, as soon as i fill it and drive the car it always empties and pisses out everywhere. I have a 16 psi one.

I have a trd (hehe what a load of shit) 1.3 bar rad cap. Never had a problem with heat or dropping coolant.

What do you think might be causing the overflow to spew out water all the time? By the way im not losing radiator water, just the water i put in the overflow bottle.

Have you burped the cooling system properly?
Air in the system can/will force the fluid in the overflow bottle to spill out, as can the system being pressurised (blown head gasket).
Check the simple things first, radiator cap, thermostat and make sure the cooling system is free of air.

Obvious question: are you actually filling your overflow bottle, like all the way to the top? If you do this the bottle will definitely overflow...

No, only halfway, must be getting a fair bit of pressure in there. The bottle can be completely emptied.

I've always found the best way is to idle with the cap off with the front of the car on ramps or the like. Let it sit there till the water at the top of the radiator stops bubbling (i.e. all the air has escaped)

I've had the same problem Skip.
I have a swirl pot between the top hose and the radiator inlet, this has the radiator cap on it.
If I fill this up (as you'd expect it to be) it spits out to the overflow bottle, I've given up on filling it up and just leave it now, it is usually 1/2 empty (cold) and this allows the over flow bottle to be full.
That all sounds a bit messy doesn't it.
Basically, I can't fill the cooling system up as much as I thought I should be able to, when I do it overflows!!
I'm running a 1.1bar rad cap
