What kind of suspension can be used in a 1988 Celica SX? the original front one are in bad condition.. should I buy a 2nd one to replace it or should I get some aftermarket or from other cars? It's used for daily diving.

Simple and much more effective .
Buying second hand your already getting possibly worn out stuff..
New springs + shocks and bushes all in one hit if you can swing it will imrove things 150 %

Something liek whiteline or king springs would be good - you can get these thru any Autobarn shop or the likes
KYB's would be my choice for " cheaper " gas struts
Same applies - Autobarn or the likes

don't get second hand from a wrecker. that is what I did innitially.. 'cause... welll there were a lot of reasons. but it sucked. they were old etc etc
yeah, KYB area good option and the most affordable 'sports' system I guess. My mate got Monroe Gas GT on his AE92 SX and it feels great tho..
I have H & R expensive stuff. I like it.. but hey, I got it 2nd hand 3 months old of a written off celica so I didn't have a say
mmmm

I have KYB shocks on my car, with my old engine still in it, they felt sooo good, I loved them a bit cheaper than the Koni's but IMO just as good, and they were better than the monroes I used to have.

yeah man!
go to City Suspension in Penrith!
119 Coreen Avenue
Penrith
ph 4721 2177
That is where i got my KYB's fitted and King Springs replaced. They do a mad job out there. i think i payed $750 all up and they replaced sum bushes aswell.
They are the largest dealer of King springs in NSW so they are able to do good prices.

Do stock springs usually lose their rate by that much? I've fitted a few car with new shocks and they feel a heap better. Are the stock springs usually ok unless you're fussy about handling...even on a car with large ks on it? The shocks bump stiffness contributes a fair bit to how stiff a car feels when you push one side of it doesn't it?? Or does this mean the springs are had it?
Sorry not helping just adding to the qns
