stop being such tight arses, accepting something with more sandblasting than it's worth - go and buy a new one!

it costs 75-100 to remove and replace a windscreen (with you supplying it). it's much safer/easier/maybe even cheaper to buy a new one for less than 200 installed.

No, you can shop it around and use the company you like the most, or ask your insurance company if they have a "one free windscreen a year deal".

I am under the impression that almost all japanese modern car windscreens are the same shape (the convex sheet). What I mean is standard cars (nothing exotic ). The ae86 will fall under this catagory because really, it's a sporty corolla.
The glass just has to be trimmed on the edges to fit the relative car.
I was really suprised when I got the windscreen on my rx7 replaced, cause the windscreen itself was angled almost to a 45 degree and looked real obscure. I thought the thing would have to be custom made, but I was wrong. no probs, they replaced for like 250.
So in that respect, any windscreen repairer can provide you with a new windscreen to fit. And personally, I would just go buy a new one, cause you get new rubbers, etc. It will cost almost the same BYO, but a lot more hassles, and a un-new windscreen.
my 2c.
