damn thing, i tensioned it up to about 20mm from the end of the adjustment, seemed to work OK but not the best, changed my pads for newys and it ceases to work once more, its now adjusted up to 100% of the adjustment , feels like its working but simply refuses to co operate.... ive had a look at the system and the way its setup and adjusted and wiggled everything maybe ive overlooked something little?

put the car on stands. apply foot brake. see if friend can turn the rear wheels - if so piston/s siezed.
otherwise check if the cables are rusted up (back off and see if they move)

when you replaced the pads did you wind the piston's back in properly? or were they simply pushed back in with a g clamp?? may seem like a stupid question but i have seen it done before.

as in T's post, check your cables. mine where seized up, i pulled them off an slowly worked (and cleaned) the inner cable back and forth in the outer with Inox. works fine now.

My handbrake is limp at the moment. Both cables are broken.
I have to park on flat ground.

Ha ha... me too... maybe we need a group buy on AW11 handbrake cables
But seriously 'handbrake freeze' is a common AW11 problem.
See www.mr2.com for info on this!
