i have 2 jeco dash ra28 celica clocks. They both work for a while then stop. You see it try to work but doesn't. I've taken one apart and cleaned it but still no joy. Is it a clock problem or power supply, Power seams to be fine using multimeter.
Any ideas?

The original equipment RA23/28 clocks are a law unto themselves and seem to stop and start again of their own accord, if you can get them to start again at all. If you can work out why you deserve the Nobel prize for Celica restoration!
Cheers,
Mitch.

The best way to get them to work is
1. Unscrew and remove dash
2. Unscrew and remove clock from dash
3. Throw clock in the bin (insert joke about time flying)
4. Insert Boost Gauge
I have never seen a RA23/28 clock that actually kept time. They just put it there so when you put a turbo engine in it, you have a place to put the boost gauge. Hows that for forward thinking by Toyota. Two thumbs up to the interior designers.

LOL
I agree though, I've seen lots of xA2x Celicas over the years and I've never come across one that had a properly working clock. Methinks Toyota saw that as a good place to cut costs, using the cheapest possible timepiece!
It is a great place to put another gauge though, or if you really want a clock you could probably find one from another car which is a similar size and hopefully much higher quality!

Or if you were a drifter you could get a grandfather clock and drift in time with the pendulum.

Yeah, my brother's RA28 clock stops and starts too.
It really sucks when you're almost asleep in the back and it starts up again, damn that infernal ticking. I'm sure everyone can imagine how hard it is to get back to sleep in the boot of one of those things.
I reckon the boost guage would be the way to go, we'll have to stick a turbo on it.

on the back of the clock there should be a little adjustment type thing that has s-f. i would assume that means slow and fast so you can adjust the clock to keep time.

Mine must be the only working one in history!
And yes the little screw on the back does adjust the speed of the clock.
I had to continually adjust mine to get it to keep it from being slow or fast.

I don't mind that my question was not answered, just to know that my two clocks aren't the only ones that are not working makes me feel that I'm in a magority group
What a laugh we can do almost any conversions, add turbo's and basically re-work our whole car to be different and unique as possible but we have no joy on the CLOCK!
