Hi all,

Im wanting to put the 21R + W55 thats in my Celica into my Corona which has a 18R + W40.

The only thing i can see stopping me is that the 21R has a mid sump, and the corona needs a front sump.

Does anyone know if the 18R sump will fit on the 21R?

According to the guys and gals from the USA on the Classic-Celica web ring, 18/20/21 and 22R engine sumps are interchange-able, so you *should* be right.
I would assume that you would swap the oil pick-up at the same
time.
One of the more popular mods for them is to fit a 20R head to a 22R motor and drop that into a 18 or 20R engined RA24/29 Celica.

Ok, after a good look, its easy to see the 18R sump wont fit the 21R.

Now, the question is, will a 20R/22R sump fit it, and do the 20R/22R sumps come in "front sump" ?

Can you not get a sump from an RA60? The 21R-C sump on them is definetly front.

Apologies for the previous bad advice from me. I passed on what I was told and never checked it for myself. Lesson learned. My local pick a part does have a pair of RA60's there, last time I looked a week ago, so I could help source a sump if that is the model that you need.

Well i got one.

Just Jap Dismantlers here in Adelaide had one from an RT141.
I havnt put it on yet, but it looks like itll be fine.
