that is bad there must be a leak try filling it up with oil/water and start the car and let it idle and even jack the front up b4 you start it so you can get a better look

(by jack i mean the proper stands you put on the chassiy)

yep i refilled it with oil and coolant, got it up on ramps.
it wasn't leaking anywhere, but with the radiator cap removed it was frothing alot. Also the exuast was emitting alot of white smoke that smelt bitter, it wasn't doing that before but it is now, especially if you rev it.
i remember awhile ago his dash would gurgle i shoulda picked up on that then.

I told my friend it's most likely a blown headgasket, take it to a mechanic and get them to do a BHG test to find out for sure. I said if you really have to keep driving it, at least keep the coolant and oil topped up and drive it softly.

That's a real shame becuase i helped my friend pick this car and he's only had it for 3 weeks.

looks like i'll have to help him fix it. is there an online 3sge service manual like there is for the 7mgte?

yeppers looks like a blown HG.. it isn't light blue 162 is it?

I have a manual here for an ST162 and could photocopy you the pages you need, but it isn't too hard a job mate. like it will take a long time but it isn't too hard.

did a 4age's hg recently and that was tight, but nothing ridiculous, just a matter of taking everything off, putting them in labelled bags if necessary, sending the head off to a shop, putting everything back together Very Happy

kinda simplified, hehe, but no crazy shenanigans needed.. Smile

if you could show me the headbolt sequence and the torque setting that would be most helpful!

the rest shouldn't be too hard to work out, altho a pain in the ass.
Removing the manifold, the crank pulley, the cams to get get to the headbolts etc :(-

owning a 7mgte blown headgaskets are common, but a low km 3sge should get one, not yet anyway.

it can happen to anyone and anything dude.

Generally with the head bolt torqueing sequence you start from the centre bolt and zig zag out, but you need to know which side to start on Wink
