So your sitting at the lights when .....

the dude in his ute behind you decides he wants to go into the right hand turn lane , but there isnt enough room for him to make it.
But hell , that doesn't stop him , he tries anyway and manages to put his front bumper into a nice long scrape along the rear of my car and procedes to drive off around the corner just leaving me to catch his make , model , colour and rego of his vehcile.
Getting home and looking at the lovely scratch along few sections of my bumper , now I have to go fill out a police report and try to catch this idiot and get me a new bumper.
It may be a relatively small thing , but we can't let bastards drive around denting peoples bumpers and crap , I work hard to maintain my car , not for some a-hole to damage it.
And in case your wondering , the car that hit me was a falcon ute with dark blue cab , rego XRT-711.
If you see him feel free to tell him i'll get him good

First - lodge a claim with your insurance - your " not at fault "
ask for advice on how to proceed agaist the other driver
secondly - file the police report ..
you have the description of the car and the rego .. if its a company car - it doesnt matter - they have log books for them - and the guy driving it is gunna get a shitkicking from his boss if it is a company car ..

SIMDOG wrote on Thu, 12 February 2004 18:36 | I reported a guy who hit a parked car at uni (left a BIG dint in the rear quarter of a 2000 Civic hatch) and the fuzz told me that he was going down big time. I spoke to the owner of the Civic and she said that the guy had apparently broken more than 3 laws and was going to get done for all of them.
I don't mind being a snitch when it comes to mindless damage to other people's cars because I am hoping someone will do the same for me.
I even left a note when my towbar touched some guy's numberplate... He rang me up puzzled as to why I bothered. It made me feel better about it.

well, i certainly wish there were more people like you in the car parks i park my car in...!
it's just the right thing to do. not hope they don't notice it.

I felt sorry for the girl who owned the Civic (I assumed a girl owned it because it was purple). I knew she was probably a uni student like me and it was one of those quarter panels that goes from the rear of the car right up over the roof and down the other side. It would have cost about a grand to fix I reckon... It was a big dint. I am happy that fucker was seen. Apparently someone else left a note similar to mine. So she had 2 witnesses.

Thankyou for that Les... At one point I was thinking of employing a local bum to watch my car when I leave it at carparks. There's always one around. Couple of bucks for piece of mind.
PS: I got that Civic girl's number. It turned out she's 24. 3 years older than me and an arts student. I could live with the age difference but sheesh, arts student! *shudder. :-

A few weeks ago while on the way home we stopped at an acco to make sure everyone was ok, one of the guys who was hit was a mate of my dads so we stayed to give him a lift home when he was cleared to go.
Anyway The acco was right next to the highway at a set of lights in peak hour traffic, so we're all standing around and hear Screech.. BANG and turn to see a red lancer run up the back of a WRX and then DRIVE OFF leaving the driver of the WRX and the 8 or so cops going !WTF! so the coppers quickly so off after him, later we found out THEY GOT HIM!! he is in a shit load of trouble.
Also not 5 mins after that we hear screech bang yep another rear ender. LOL

i used to work at supercheap, when i was up in the lunchroom one day eating, i got bored sitting ther so i went to the window overlooking the carpark, i saw a busted WB reverse into a VS, he looked around and drove off, both i and a guy in the carpark got his plates, so i went downstairs and asked all 10 ppl in the store if it was theirs.
another time i was under the bonnet of a guys 1950's corvette trying to figure out if a air cleaner of ours would fit, and all of a sudden the car jolts, we both lookup at the guys wife, and she said she didnt do anything, we looked onthe passenger side and a woman was stuck in his rare wire spoke rims with the VC metal front bar, he went absolutely spastic, just had the car imported 3 weeks earlier,
she was trying to reverse out and had gone full lock as sonn as she got in the car and swung the front end around and collected him, we had to get 2 of the 3 tonne car jacks and lift the back of the vette and the front of the dore and had to get her to drive forward, destroyed the rim

Yesterday I went down the street to one of my parents' friend's house to sit in their airconditioned environment. On my way in I noticed that the mid nineties Magna they own had a massive dint in the drivers door. It was severe enough to see where the window mechanism had almost pierced the panel and the door handle was barely hanging on.
When I went inside I was all like WTF happened... The owner said that he'd gone down to the beach and parked in a side street. When he came back that's what he found. No note... No evidence of who did it.
I freakin' hate the people who do this kind of shit!!! It's definitely going to need a replacement door. Totally unfixable. It basically FUCKED and the arsehole just drove away!
