Urgent help needed: Throttle linkages for 18R-GU Fri, 13 February 2004 01:46 Go to next message
Hi guys, I recently purchased a set of 'new' throttle linkages that go from the carbies to the accelerator pedal. They are apparently for an RA23/28 Celica GT, however, we can't seem to make them fit. We think we've got the section from the carbies to the firewall figured out, but we don't know what goes from the pivot point on the firewall, along the firewall to the accelerator. Does anyone else have these throttle linkages on their celica, and can point me in the right direction?
Cheers,
Tim

Hi Jason, thanks for the reply, but I don't have any pics unfortunately (I don't have a digital camera). Would you be able to email me a few pics of your parts, so I can compare them to what I have? My email is timmy48@hotmail.com
Thanks,
Tim

dont they run a cable from the accelerator to the linkages. IMO you should just run a cable form the accelartor straight to the carbies. Its alot simpler and you get better response when you accelerate.

Thats debatable some people say that linkaged are better and others say that cable is better i think i will be putting the linkages in and see how they go.
Each to their own i say Very Happy
ps 18rg-u origionally came with linkages it was only the 18r-geu that changed over to cable

i have linkages and i like them, i have to put my foor down SFA to move or even less to cruise, but if u have a tendancy to have a "wobbly" foot then u best go cable
