in my car its when the red needle hits the middle of the P
in the word TEMP on the gauge ie

also it comes on sooner if i have the a/c on

i hooked up a manual over ride switch on mine so i can turn the fans on earlyer if i think its getting to hot

Would it be possible to tell me or even show(in a picture) me how you hooked up a manual overide switch?
*What specification switch did you use? (30 amp etc..)

well. Thermostats open at 82C for most Toyota engines, 88C for others. I'd turn on the fan at about 90C i reckon.

You could use a Jaycar thermostat which is normally closed, and just reverse wire a DT (double throw) relay to turn it on at set temp. Perhaps the 70C thermostat attached to the thermostat housing would be suitable, as the housing probably doesn't get as hot as the water itself.. i dunno.
