What a shitty Friday the 13th! I was backing out of the driveway and my dad was following me out. He was going 10 thousand miles an hour and didn't see me still in the driveway and reversed straight into my side....OUCH! He has a Toyota Hilux tray back ute so some serious damage was done. The tray actually punctured into the side of the car and tore holes in the panels. The dit is about 45cm deep with 2 big holes and about the width of the entire back of the ute. It also smashed the rear side glass window. The car still drives straight and nothing seems to be bent in the body except panels so I’m lucky. What a strong car!

Now here comes the big job of getting it fixed and finding replacement glass etc.

To all the panel beaters out there what would be the best option? Belting it out and using bog and welding or replacing the rear side panel with a new one and welding it on?

Does anyone know of any wreckers that would be able to get a back glass window?

I remember seeing a side back guard for sale on the internet somewhere but can't find it again. I thought it was at Japanese Motorsport?

Are there any good places people can recommend to take the car to get fixed? I live near Mildura and am willing to go anywhere in Victoria including Melbourne but would rather somewhere closer to Mildura.

Thanks guys...will get a pic up on Sunday arvo for you to check it out.

Oh I hate crashes!!!!!!!! Crying or Very Sad Crying or Very Sad Crying or Very Sad

if they're that badly damaged, and going to need serious panelbeating and bogging and spraying anyway, I'd be looking for some new panels

Yeah it is very serious but it's in the back left so on a Soarer it's attached to the roof etc. Can they just cut it off and put a new one on?

I have no idea about panel beating and that. So I want to find out more before I get talked into things.

I didn't have my camera with me and didn't get a pic. I left the car with my parents to take it to places tomorrow to get ideas while i'm at work.

yeah, there's a join between that panel and the roof, where it's welded at the factory. I have nfi on how hard that would be to do - but you could ask a few panel beaters
