I have no idea how to read these charts and was wondering if anyone can explain them or post a link to a site(s) that explain how to read them.

Im trying to understand this. http://www.lysholm.se/images/diagram/2300r.gif

They talk about turbos but it's the same thing.

After you have done all the calculations, in an ideal world, you want to be right in the middle of that 66% efficiency circle at your desired rpm. Of course, seeing as car engines don't operate at constant rpm but continuously vary across a wide range of rpm, if you were to do these calculations for the range of rpm you were looking at, you get a line across the different efficiency curves that describes your engine.

The colored lines have a legend in the top right corner that also helps define the other lines. To be honest, not sure what the power curves (green lines) signify.

Hope this helps a little.

green lines would be the power it takes to drive the supercharger... wow!! 20kw at peak efficiency!!! that kinda... sucks Wink

pressure ratio is (boost + atmospheric)/atmospheric.

so if you were running 14.7psi=1bar=1atm boost, your pressure ratio is 2.

draw a horizontal line across at 2, and then you get the efficiency at different air flow (in cubic metres/min, which is similar to CFM, and you work it out by the speed of your engine x the ratio of the SC drive pulley x the volume the SC pushes per rev?? )
