EOI: 87 Camry will swap for KE30/55 Mon, 16 February 2004 13:13 Go to next message
im looking at swapping my camry for a ke30/55 sedan/coupe. if neone has one or knows someone who has one in sydney let me know, will also travel as far as canberra/newcastle/wollongong if i think itll be worth it, must be manual with rego and body in good condition, doenst have to have ne mods just must me reasonable conditon, but im open to anything, mainly must have minumum 6 months rego preferable. let me know thanks, heres the details of my car:

i have an 1987 Camry, its got the 2L 3S-FE Twin Cam engine (same as the celica SX's except it has an "economical" head design - still, it has pretty good torque and pulls really well from low down in the rev range)

ive got a k&n panel filter fitted to it
also just spent 1200 bucks on new shocks and springs, monroe sensatracs + kingsprings (lowered 2 inches) i also have the stock springs that go with the car.

just had the car serviced full oil change/filter change, car also had the entire cooling system flushed and radiator flushed.

gettin the tierod end joint replaced on wednesday.

also getting the brakes fixed wednesday following (front discs machined, new pads front, new shoes on the rear, handbrake tighened)

also getting new sparkplugs either this week or next week

also have a front strut brace on order with the group buy picking it up on the 29th of feb.

car also has a stereo system which i may swap with the car, consists of

Clarion Head unit
VDO 6inch splits (external crossovers) mounted in custom door pods, jsut made some new ones too, just gotta get them carpeted.

also have some alpine 6 1/2 inch 2ways for the rear but not installed atm but will be when i move house, mounted in a custom 18mm parcel shelf.

all running of a 4 channel alpine amp hidden in the boot.

running twin RCA's from the head unit to the amp also too.

car has done 225XXXkms, its a 5 speed manual.

Problems:

*the brakes make a heap of noise and the front discs are warped a bit, but can be machined out (gettin all this fixed in a week)

*theres a hole in the middle muffler, i got quoted $260 for a catback 2 1/4" exhaust system with sports mufler and chrome tip. duno how much itd cost just to replace the muffler but not much.

*cooling hoses need to be replaced (approx $270 for ALL hoses to be replaced)

*front tyres are almost gone but will probably get some new ones for them after i get the brakes done.

theres not much else i can think of but if neone is interested let me know, id be thinking about selling for around $3000 seeing as ive put about over 2k into the car in the past few months, alos it has rego until november 2004. if neone hasa ke30/55 they wana swap for this let me know, cheers

Is it just the K&N filter or does it have a custom made intake.
Im also interested in the door speakers and pods, would you be interested in removing these parts and selling them separatley, i'll see you at the camry cruise on the 29th anyhow.

omeaga its jsut a k&n pannel filter. ill have my new door pods fitted on the cruise hopefully so u can have a look, i can make u some up if u want wasnt very hard to do, took me about 30 mins which would be even less now as i have a proper template now. but ud have to cut the metal in your doors.

anyway see ya

BTW the filter isnt even fitted to my car so yea it uses too much petty for the amount of driving i do so i cant afford it
