Hi,

My mate is doing a 3s-gte conversion for his ke55s. It'll be wild!

Anyway, he has a couple of thing that I thought you could help with.

1) A list of importers for half cut of Gen 3 3s-gte.

This'd be great, because although using many a google search, I'm sure there must be some I've missed.

2) He wants to use a supra turbo 5 speed box. What is the model code? R154 isn't it? What other options would you think?

Thanks for the help!

The turbo box is the R154, but it will probably be too big to fit. Best bet is to get a W58, as with the weight of the car is will be more than enough (still treat it right), and many say that the shify quality is heaps better

Cheers

Awesome info already!

You guys are great.

What do you think of the conversion?

He's already got Celica struts/brakes in there Smile

He's planning roll cage, 'zorst, interior (gauges/seats) to start with. And a nice aftermarket ECU.

He's a mechanic, and plans to do most of the work himself.

Ooh yeah, needs custom manifolds as well, because of.. Something, I'm a newb haha..

Anyway, the car weighs like 800kg, and probably less with lighter seats!

This thing will fly!

will be a good straight line warrior...
is it engineerable??

so what has he taken out to get to that weight? i had thought they were around 850-870kg to start with?

the cage will add some weight, but tie it into the suspension points to reduce body flex.

should be a lot of fun Very Happy

Well, right now it's completely stripped.

He's also removed the roof, and replaced it with a removable cover for convertible action!

It's not my favourite look personally, but it's done quite well.

Fun is an understatement, I think!

why do you patronise him?

he is just sharing his thoughts on a conversion that quite a few people on here would be interested to read about.

Maybe you should splash some water over your face and reread the thread.
A 3S conversion is not something a 15 year old could take on!

Where'd you get 15 year old from??

A mechanic friend is meant to be doing it, and going from his profile he's about 23...

Like was said above, why patronize??

Like was said above, why patronize??

Because it damm obvious that he did not do any kind of search at all on this subject!
The question about what gearbox to use has been answered about 4 billion times.
A list of importers has been posted on these forums about 8 billion times.

So if someone was serious about doing this conversion or any conversion for that matter they would of done some more researching first. So many people come on here saying I'm going to do this conversion because "it'll be wild" and then go about asking how to it.
So why do I "patronize" you ask, because I fucken well want to Twisted Evil
