Exciting Tire Blow out ;)

Driving home from gig tonight i had an exciting blow out on james rouse. Came up the big straight towards pennent hills over pass and as i backed off at about 160kph ( i know, i was clearing the throat ) there was quiet a loud bang. So i applied the brakes. Thats when it got exciting, the car went from the outside lane to the inside lane very quickly and felt like it had 4 wheels steer but not in my control. Did a nice fish tail for the next 200m's or so nigil mansel style and pulled up on the side of the road. Then had to change tire in the dark and unpack all my music crap in doing so!! AHH..
Thats my little sook. Luke

Do you know the cause of the blow-out? Low tyre pressures? Speed rating of tyre?

funny thing was.. the 4 or 5 cars i'd just blown off down the straight witnessed the whole thing Oh well.
I just woke up so i'll go have a look at the tire now. I couldn't see a hole last night , just deflated completely.

checked it out.. looks like a big nail has gone through it. Left a clean hole about 4mm across. BIG NAIL! Very clean hole though.
Yeah i am lucky. I thanks the many times i used to get skaty on the farm in the rain for getting me out of last night. Was just like trying to brake for a gate in mud when your doing a nice 4 wheel slide

Whats worse is my mate on the way back from leavers. 5 people in his Magna wagon, doing 165kph trying to catch keep up with us, when a shred just rips off one of his tyres...luckily the car tracked true so he could slow it down and change the tyre.
Least you only had to move your music stuff, can you imagine how much shit there was from 5 guys on leavers?
