Supercharging 4AGE

Hey everyone,
I've been thinking of some options to get more more power out of my car, and I'm intersted in finding out what it would take to supercharge a standard 4AGE. The main reason I was thinking of this, is that if its as simple as hooking up the supercharger, intercooler and stuff from a 4AGZE then it could be a relatively cheap and easy mod to do.
My car is a 1988 ae82 twin cam with a red and black top 4AGE, if that helps at all.
Does anyone know what it would take to supercharge a 4AGE?
Would grabbing the intercooler and supercharger of the gze be sufficient?
Will the standard 4age ecu and gearbox be able to cope, or will i need to get a different ecu or gearbox?
Should the standard internals on the 4age still be strong enough to cope if its supercharged?
How much work would be involved, and would it really be worth it when compared to an engine conversion to a 20v or 4agze (in $$, performance and installation effort).
Any information or advice would be appreciated.

The standard 4AGE compression may be a bit too high for forced induction. An engine conversion would be a wiser option e.g. getting a 4AGZE front cut so you get the whole package.
It depends what condition the engine is in as to how well it will accept the supercharger etc. But I think the standard gearbox will not be up to the job. Depends on the way you drive. I think the ECU will be completely different as well. By the time you spend money on the charger, intercooler, manifold, ECU etc it'd be better to get a GZE conversion.
Depends how much you want to spend and what you want to achieve.

Cheers for the replies.
Atm I'm just looking at possible options, but anything I do will be a couple of months down the track.
Basically if its gonna cost so much to supercharge the current engine, I'd do what you suggest and just do a complete engine conversion to either a GZE or 20V (I've been looking at both).
But it all depends on if I decide to get a new car, or decide the ae82's worth the effort and $$$ for a conversion.

Forget about supercharging a 4A-GE. Go out and buy yourself a 4A-GZE front cut, then you'll get everything you need for a proper supercharged setup.
