fuel pump and dizzy Fri, 20 February 2004 05:59 Go to next message
is it worth upgrading the fuel pump and distributor on my 2t/3t if i only have the solex 40's on it? will it give it too much petrol? is there anything to be gained by changing these?
what about altering the ignition system?

As far as the fuel pump goes, it would depend on if you were having any fuel starvation problems. The standard pump flows a reasonable amount, so i doubt it would be a problem for a single carb setup.

As for the dizzy, electronic is always better, but you might not have to change/shave the points as much as i used to.

I don't know how much i would spend on a single cam 2t/3t motor though, not with all the tasty conversions floating around Smile

ah, well that's fair enough then. Same goes for the pump, i'd be wanting to change the dizzy though.

I'd see if i could track down a 2/3tgeu dizzy as a nice easy swap (they're electric right). If they are too rare then i'm not sure what would be an acceptable conversion.

Sorry about the earlier confusion, reading not so good me was Smile
