I was wondering what the power and torque was for the 20v 4A-GE? Anyone know? I can't seem to find it.

According to Stu, yes. But you have to put in low compression pistons first.

HAHAHA yep go the rotaries
what about the VL turbo could they beat that if you had a 20v turbo in a ae86?

Driven well, a N/A 16 Valve Corolla with an exaust mod should be able to beat a stock VL turbo. Taking into consideration the power loss due to drivetrain and weight of a AE86, a manual 16 valve N/A AE86 would have some trouble beating a VL Turbo. However, a 20 valve AE86 (with exaust mods giving 20% more power) can beat a stock VL Turbo. So a Turbo 20V 4A-GTE AE86 shouldn't have a problem wasting them. In theory anyway.
However, as Stu said to me, why bother turobing a 20 valve when you can just slap a 3S-GTE or 4A-GZE into a AE86 and get the same if not better power for less money.

20vs are great engines, but not so much streetable drag engine at the lights.
They aren't that much torquy then a regular redtop or blue top, but at the high rev range, they are awesome. Good for cornering.
Hows the turbo lag like when you turbo a 20v?.
I'm thinkin a 3sgte or a 4agze would be a better choice for induction than a turbo'd 20v.
rock on.

You could always get a 20V head and put it on a 4A-GZE. Best of both worlds. Once again though, why spend that much money when you can just get a 3S-GTE? It would be a fun upgrade, but not cost effective at all.

Those 20v power figures are dubious at best, there is a number of threads on http://www.twincam.org about this...
Basically they put out around 110Kw... Those high figures were done without the ancillaries (A/C, P/S etc).
As for turboing it's best to just use a 4agze and go from there... otherwise it is big bucks!

errr, that's not so much the BOX as it is the DIFF... However, the T50 isn't really a good bet behind a turbo engine, anyway...
