Brisbane Wreckers that you would recommends? Sat, 21 February 2004 07:42 Go to next message
Hey, recently been cruising round a few wreckers trying to find a few parts for my car (1/4 panels, bumpers and a door mainly) and some of the places are after STUPID prices for stuff Laughing

Just wondering which wreckers most ppl goto and actually think are ok?

Wacol was the only one that seemed to have ok prices ($50 for a drum to drum live axle sounded good Smile) (Salisbury and ABC at oxley both had expensive prices I thought Confused )

Cheers
Wilbo

there's the toyota wreckers (Toyota Auto Recycler, tel 3376 4065) at sumner park - but price might be an issue.

the ABC place at Wacol is cheapish - but get a price before wasting your time - i've seen a few folks dump hard-fought bits at the office after the staff wanted stupid money for them - most of my stuff has come from there tho - is a good place for re-stocking bolts/nuts etc (stuff that fits down bottom of tool bag). no shade tho, bring a hat!

capalabah wreckers used to be good, but is too far for me now (i once got a cortina gearbox for $50 and it turned out to be freshly rebuilt (no noises, crisp shifts, took years of abuse to kill).

plus there's a place (name unknown) up towards shornecliffe that's supposed to be OK

Boss Wrecking isn't bad, and they have a bunch of older Toyotas including Cressidas, Crowns, MkII's etc.

It's just off Wynnum Rd, about 15-20 minutes from the city... can't remember the suburb right now. Look it up in the yellow pages.

All depends on who u know ive found. I used to use wacol as they were the cheapest but now i use abc at oxley as i know the boss pretty well and get dirt cheap prices. So try to find someone that knows someone and your set.
