1GGTE in Cressida Sun, 22 February 2004 08:56 Go to next message
Has anyone ever put a GA70 motor into a mx83 cressida. If so please give us a few pointers..... Having problems with engine and gearbox mounts. Also, help with wiring the cressi to the 1GGTEecu would be cool.

If anyone knows anything about this or something similar please tell us

i somehow think you're a bit of a pioneer as far as this conversion goes
most people go the 7M-GTE of 1JZ approach when upgrading the balls of a MX83

as for the mounts
get adapter plates made up. easier to knock up than fully custom mounts

If you really want a 1G, get a GX70 front cut and it will practically bolt in. Same car, different engine.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was in fact a GX8x(1 maybe?) wasn't there? I'm pretty sure they came with 7Ms, 1JZ's, 1G's, diesel (can't remember which engine), and maybe a 4 pot as well? In fact I'm SURE I've seen a GX81 in an import yard.

The GX81 looks almost the same as an MX83, ie late-model Cressida.
