I have this slight query my AE86 does not have power steering i know thats not a big deal Razz however according to the owners manual and the engine stamp on the VIN and the block itself it sould be there but its not. any thoughts on this. Confused

plus i want to know if i can get a power steering kit to add on possibly from another AE86 sprinter.

If it should be there and it ain't, it means that your car has either been re-tagged or else someone's pinched the power steering. You'll need the rack (duh..!), column, crossmember, the steering arms are shorter with PS, plus the pump and pipes. I've just fitted PS to my AE86, haven't had a chance to try it yet though.

However, I wish you much luck in successfully finding all the parts! Evil or Very Mad They don't grow on trees Very Happy

I wouldn't have thought they'd be that heavy in steering anyway being rear wheel drive an all? Is it worth the headache of fitting. My friend had a T18 and that was pretty light.. I suppose still an effort at parking lot speeds unless you're getting some rear wheel slip to help you round. Wider wheels/tyres won't help the cause. If the tyres are all old and crappy it will make the steering feel heaps heavier. On my old 929 i had crusty 195s and it was as heavy as. Got some mags with fresh 225s on it and it was tons lighter even though wider. Get wheel alignment also. Just thought i'd add 2c, you may want the psteer but consider what it will cost and effort.
All the best

I'm fitting it to mine purely to try it, if I don't like it, it will be coming off again. I never had any trouble making full lock corrections at 160km/h without it, just want to try with it.
