1GGTE First dyno... Mon, 23 February 2004 00:05 Go to next message
Well I finally got round to getting the beast dynoed on the weekend... she did a hell of a lot better than I expected.

220.4 RWHP... or roughly 160 RWKW.

Only problem now is it leans out too much on the top end. The dyno technician said she had more to go, but wasn't going to risk it.

So I guess I better start saving for an after market ecu, unless any one has any cheaper suggestions to stop her from leaning out.

Cheers,
Kirk

I havn't had any traction issues as of yet... but then again... I don't launch it either.

The standard diff's and drive trains in the old 28's aren't made four big figures, and I don't like changing them all the time Wink

No LSD... can't quite afford one at the moment.

The single spinner isn't too bad as long as you treat it nicely. i.e no hard launches, burnouts, ect.

We have just put in a 3.9:1 from an ra60 because the old one was starting to whine a little.

Phil, the Blitz bag turbos were made by Blitz in japan, these ones were specifically built for the 1G.

They are highflowed too Wink

With a single-spinner and live axle I imagine it would simply light up one wheel and not go anywhere!

Same shit, you might get both wheels spinning if you really give it shit, but ultimately it's going to spin one wheel longer than the other.

Congrats on the dyno that is exatly the same power that mine made, does your car side step when it comes on to power I can stop my wheels from spinning even with a rolling start.

What size wheels are you running ant what sort of I/C do you have.

You might find that the injectors cant cope with any more power I have to put 400-500cc injectors in mine before I try to get more power out of it.

Cheers
BEN

I'd also like to point out that at the dyno day Kirk was the overall winner of the HP challenge. Other cars there included V8 dunnydores and rotories so I think he done well Smile

Hey Ben,
It doesn't side step... unless it's in the rain.
I'm currently running 150 x 7's on the rear 145 x 6 on the front, and I had a custom front mount made... 456 x 50 I think the dimensions were.

Injectors are the next thing on my list... I was thinking some of the 7MGTE injectors would do the job. I have to do some research on them first though Wink

The closest car on the day was a VK 5ltr v8 (carbies) with 200rwhp. The rotary should have cleaned up, but he had a split intercooler hose somewhere.

Cheers,
Kirk

Good to know the 7MGTE injectors are a straight swap... is that what you are running Ben?

The turbos I'm running at the momnet are aftermarket Blitz turbos... there still 12a, except they're higflowed and strengthened.

Cheers,
Kirk
