I was driving my mum's rav4 the other day and the brakes squeal horribly. I'm going to deglaze them, but want to know:

What grade/grit sandpaper should i use?
Do i rub up the disc rotor or the pad or both?

thanks guys

If they're squealing "horribly", they'll need skiming professionally. You can sit there and try sandpaper, but the squeal will only come back quickly. use a medium grade sandpaper, say 180, and only hit the rotor surface.
