Looks wickid tho.

Dont know if you noticed, but those pics aren't the same car....

Anywayz i've seen these pics 3 months ago, I must say when i first saw these I thought it looked pimp! I've seen some more night shots of the chrome mercs and it really looks quite amazing with all the reflections and so on. As was already mentioned, i don't think its very safe.... one long beam flash and you could end up in the ditch on the side of the road.....

Man that looks amazing, still i don't think its very practical, you would have to polish it heaps and just think if it got scartched.

And you would know this how?
They don't appear to be.
Are you 100% positive? if not why post it?
Have a look at the reflections.
Smells like bullshit to me.

Actually - those pics would be quite easy to computer render.

In my 3d rendering class at uni, our lecturer showed us that all car ads these days are computer rendered believe it or not - you can tell if you look closely at the shadow beneath the car.

All you'd need to do is place a camera at the centre of where you'd want and take a photo straight up, down, and at 90' angles horizontally, and create a reflection map, and raytrace it. Easy.

(WOW! I ACTUALLY LEARNT SOMETHING AT UNI!!!)

Then again, i doubt this has been done. I'm sure some crazy nut actually chromed an entire car! Looks cool.

they are right.. they are 3d rendered. you can tell by a number of things
the "seams" on the cars between peices of the body.. the bluriness of some of the parts in the background and some with lack of texture.. unrealistic non dirty stuff is always a dead give away.
also the actual paint would probably be more harsh then the render and reflect so bad that it would be hard to get a good picture.

I should know. I have finished a scholarship in 3d animation and modelling for film and games

I heard someone in sydney got a car done with a chrome paint job. Cops took it off the road first day...

Just a story dont know if anyone can confirm or if its just an urban myth.

They've got me wondering if they really are computer generated.

One big factor. Not one of the photos, can you see the photographer properly.

Either the photographer is really good and hid him/herself AND the tripod...or it's a 3D model.

What, so he's sitting in the tree here?

And BTW, how come there are no more tree reflections in the doors?

Just wondering...

because the reflections on the bonet are from the trees behind the car, the reflections on the door are in front of the car, there is no evidence to suggest there are any trees in front of the car.

How come there are no tyre tracks in front OR behind the car in this photo?

It's a conspiracy I tells ya. A conspiracy.
Reminds me of the moon landings.
Really, I don't care if they are authentic or not. Just curious.
