Knocking !

What are the early signs of bearing noise?
I know that once the bottom bearings are gone they make a clatter dependant on revs..
What i'm getting is a bottom end knock, between 1000-2000 rpm when cold, it rises with engine revs and completely disappears over about 1800 revs. When the engine gets warm there is no noise whatsoever.
Am i looking at a bottom end rebuild shortly?
Cheers

Is it from the reciprocating mass or the oil pump, ie, does it make the noise more noticabley after a long rest, after oil fill ups, on morning start ups as opposed to quick succession start ups?

is this a 1jzgte? If so these normally dont have many problems unless ill treated. Big end bearing sounds like your problem is, and if it is, stop driving your car NOW. the more your crank turns, the more you are scratching and ruining it!
