And im sure you know this already but the rear spoiler decreases lift and increases drag on an MA61.

try typing in "snow plow" and "towel rack" into Google. Very Happy

Seriously though,

If by canards you mean thoes wanky things on the new celicas, they operate pretty much within the boundry layer of the bonnet and would achieve very little. If anything they would increase drag.

Plating the undertray or Ground effect can work well on race cars but not so much on road cars. The reason being is that is really sensative to the height above the road and only effective within the first few inches. Not very practical for a road car. It may reduce some drag though and if you could build in some wedge would give some assistance for downforce. Try doing a search on "diffusers" These can also be incorporated into the front air dam.

Air dams work well as they are used to prevent air getting under the car, which causes lift (upward) and drag due to the pressure build up. Incorporating some diffusers to it's underside will also increase downforce.

A wing on a MA61 could be used really well as it could help to reattach the airflow down the hatch. Hard to do with a conventional sedan or hatch but the low rake on the MA61 hatch should make it a little easier. This would give a two-fold benefit in that while it would add down force, it will also reduce the wake size and reduce drag.

it would appear i have some reading to do Nod

it looks like the easiest thing to do would be a front splitter/dam and a decent wing in the right location.

i also believe a good rear diffuser can work well?

anyone have any sites/info on wing design and placement (principles only?)

as for wool tuft - yes, ive heard of it, but honestly dont know much about it
