I think lumpy can help me out on this one. Just completed my 1j conversion into a 1986.5 MK3 supra. I have kept my old dash because I think it looks better than the JZA70 one. But I can't get my tacho to work. I tried to get the signal from the "IG" terminal on the dianostic block but that dosen't seem to work. Now I am fresh out of ideas can anyone help? Also the AC compressor on the 1JZ is a three wire type as opposed to my old sigle wire type, can that still be made to work with the old dash? Or can the old 7M-GE compressor be bolted in? Thanks.

just guessing but usually if its was a 1 wire than that would be a (+wire) or (-wire) depending. this would be easy to find out with voltmeter on the end, turn the ac on and see if u get a reading if so its (+wire) so to work it just needs (+wire)from battery and bolted to the motor to work ,so if the wire from battery has a switch in it the pump can be harnesed so if its a three wire it has a (+wire) (_wire) and a (switchwire),that said it needs a (+wire)from the battery a wire from the (-terminal)or body and a switch wire which can just be a on off type switch or constant (+wire) to turn on or off this im not sure how to check other then circuit wire diagrams or trace the original harness hope this has help thats all i can offer im not an auto elect just a back_yarder trying to help a fellow toyota_freak.

Thanks. Also is it normal to see 12psi manifold pressure on a 1JZ with just a 3" exhaust and a K&N pod filter. I also have a balance line running between both turbos for easy boostin' later on. But I haven't touched the boost. Do I have a leak in the wastegate line?
