	| Drive Train Power Loss | Wed, 25 February 2004 10:09 | | |
	| I know it varies based on different setups, but does anyone know what the average drive train losses are for FWD, AWD, and RWD? I read somewhere that front loses about 19%, Rear about 27% and rear about 37%, but I have been noticing some people posting what I would call low power figures (based on theory - I don't have much experience with Dynos for real) for the mods they have done to their engine.

So anyone? Have I got the numbers for drive train losses wrong, or am I just over estimating how much more power mods usually give.

	| It does, but the numbers seem to be off. Either that or: a) I'm going mad.
 b) Adding an exaust and tuning doesn't give anywhere near 20% extra power.

	| Drivetrain losses are by no means a constant... I think calculating a rear wheel figure to a flywheel figure is a pretty bollocks thign to do really.
And I think you're mistaken with front wheel drives... they don't generally make any power at all
